Clay is currently an associate professor for electrical engineering technology and renewable energy at Kankakee Community College in Kankakee IL. Clay has been instructing both PV and wind workshops at the MREA for over fifteen years and is an IREC Certified Instructor in both PV and Small Wind Energy. Clay has a construction background gained from working in his family’s plumbing shop and working nine years as a commercial electrician on large construction projects. In 2009, KEEP named him the Non-Formal Energy Educator of the Year and in 2013 was named the IREC Clean Energy Trainer of the Year.
