Learn to design reliable solar plus storage systems for grid-connected and stand-alone use.
Course Description
(PV 452) Designing Solar Plus Storage Systems
This six-hour online course teaches the design process of solar plus storage (SPS) systems for grid-connected and stand-alone applications.
Participants will review design principles for SPS systems, beginning with an overview of the design process based on desired outcomes, a load analysis of daily consumption, and determining which loads will be backed up. Then design variables like power and energy capacity of the battery bank, inverter sizing, array sizing, and the variety of system configurations will be explored and calculated.
Participants will also become more familiar with energy storage system (ESS) location requirements, codes, industry standards, and safety considerations regarding all aspects of SPS systems.
Instructor: Alex Jarvis
