Mapping Our Impact: MREA Training Across the Country in 2025–2026

From customized, hands-on instruction to flexible online learning, the Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) is bringing renewable energy education to learners and organizations across the country.

November 2026

In the 2025–2026 fiscal year, MREA continued to expand access to renewable energy training, helping individuals build technical skills, organizations strengthen their workforce, and communities explore pathways into the clean energy industry. Our reach extends far beyond our Wisconsin training facilities, connecting learners with the knowledge and experience they need to move the industry forward.

The maps below tell that story. Each marker represents an opportunity to share knowledge, develop skills, and help prepare the next generation of renewable energy professionals.

Custom Group Training: Training Where It’s Needed

MREA delivered customized training across multiple states, working to make high-quality solar education accessible to employers, educational institutions, workforce development organizations, and community partners.

Whether introducing students to solar technology, preparing professionals to advance their technical skills, or helping workforce organizations create pathways into clean energy careers, MREA develops training experiences that connect education with real-world opportunities.

By tailoring course content, delivery methods, and learning objectives to each group, MREA helps turn workforce needs into meaningful educational opportunities.

A total of 23 cohorts of students with 95 courses offered for customized trainings, with 17 organizations/businesses who hired us specifically for contract training.

Our Custom Group Training Partners for the fiscal year 2025-2026:

Online Training: Renewable Energy Education Without Borders

34 states. One shared opportunity to learn.

MREA’s online training reached learners in 34 states, demonstrating how flexible education can help make renewable energy knowledge accessible across geographic boundaries.

Online courses give students the opportunity to strengthen their skills, explore new career possibilities, and pursue professional development on a schedule that works for them. Whether someone is entering the solar industry, expanding their technical expertise, or working toward industry credentials, MREA offers learning opportunities to support their next step.

Learners can access coursework online, connect with instructors for support, and earn a certificate of completion after successfully completing their course. Many offerings also support continuing education and professional credentialing pathways.

By bringing renewable energy education directly to learners, MREA helps reduce geographic barriers to professional development and supports a more knowledgeable, skilled clean energy workforce.

MREA’s total number of online enrollments: 923

One Mission, Multiple Pathways

MREA’s different pathways serve varying needs, but both advance the same mission: making quality renewable energy education more accessible.

For organizations and businesses, customized training creates opportunities to develop talent, strengthen technical capabilities, and prepare participants for emerging workforce opportunities. For individual learners, online courses offer a flexible way to gain knowledge, pursue professional goals, and keep pace with a changing industry.

Together, these programs reflect MREA’s commitment to meeting learners where they are and helping them get where they want to go.

Looking Ahead: Expanding Our Reach & Strengthening Our Impact

The maps and data represent more than reach. They illustrate the growing opportunities to connect people with renewable energy education, build partnerships, and support a workforce prepared for the industry’s evolving needs.

As MREA looks ahead, we remain committed to developing accessible, relevant training that responds to the needs of learners, employers, educational institutions, and communities.

Wherever the next opportunity takes us, our mission remains the same: promote renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainable living through education and demonstration while expanding renewable energy adoption through innovative programs, renewable energy training, and educational events.
