The Green and Healthy issue of Wisconsin School News by Wisconsin Association of School Boards (WASB) features two solar school articles. In Why Wisconsin Schools are Going Solar, our Solar on Schools Program Manager, Amanda Schienebeck discusses trends in solar schools, providing resources for schools interested in going solar. Be sure to check the issue out and share with the school districts in your neighborhood!
In partnership with the Couillard Solar Foundation, the MREA developed the Wisconsin Solar on Schools initiative in mid-2019 to provide a range of free resources and financial assistance to Wisconsin schools interested in going solar. To help lower the upfront cost of a solar installation, this initiative provides schools an in-kind grant in the form of a solar panel donation. Each grant is valued up to $20,000.
