MeLena Hessel is the Director of Policy, IL at Elevate. Elevate is a non-profit organization that designs and implements programs that bring clean and affordable heat, power, and water to homes and communities. Hessel leads Elevate’s Illinois clean energy policy work, focusing on the implementation of the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act and the intersection of electrification programs and policy. She works with various stakeholders, including frontline organizations, government offices, and private companies to jumpstart and support an equitable clean energy economy for Illinois.
