Katie first joined the MREA as a staff member in 2009 as the Receptionist/Office Manager. After a 10+ year hiatus, she has returned to her roots and is currently in the role of Registration Manager. Katie manages the data and registration processes for various areas, including training, memberships, donations, and events.
Katie graduated from UW-Stevens Point with Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology, Social Science, and Natural Science. She has a love for fermentation which led her to work in the lab at a brewery for over six years. She also has a passion for helping animals in need. She interned at a wildlife rehabilitation hospital and has adopted many homeless pets over the years. For now, Katie is happy to stick to home fermentation projects and spending time with her husband and two dogs, Pickle and Ginger, and two cats, Chai and Nettie.
