MREA’s ILSFA Qualified Job Training Offerings
Helping Approved Vendors Meet Job Training Requirements
About
MREA supports the Illinois Solar for All (ILSFA) initiative as a Qualified Job Training Program to help create jobs for members of historically marginalized communities.
The ILSFA program requires its Approved Vendors to hire job trainees from qualified job training programs. Below are the courses and packages approved to meet the 29-hour-credit requirement (50% of the PVIP required credits).
Step One
PV Associate Core Course Package
A great way to set the foundation for your training, and get a start in the solar industry is to obtain your NABCEP PV Associate Credential. MREA offers three core courses that qualify individuals to sit for the NABCEP PV Associate Exam: Basic Photovoltaics (PV 101), PV Site Assessment (PV 201) and PV system Design (PV 220).
The NABCEP PV Associate Program is a globally recognized, entry-level credential in solar that shows potential employers you’ve learned the basics of solar power, passed an exam, and are ready to work. Once you attend the courses and pass the exam you will have obtained 18 of the 29 required hours of training.
