MREA Webinar Series — Spring Cleaning Sustainably

February 24 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

WHEN: Tuesday, February 24 starting at 5:30 p.m.

WHERE: Online via Zoom

This month’s webinar welcomes Rubina Martini, owner of PROCESS and co-owner of Tomorrow River Homestead, for a discussion on seasonal sustainability, exploring eco-friendly ways to refresh living spaces and build sustainable habits.

Sustainability is a journey and aligning to the seasons is one way to ensure it becomes an overall lifestyle. Spring time is a season of renewal. Together we will discuss sustainable options to reset, reflect and re-envision what this seasonal refresh can be.

In the workshop we will focus on attuning with the season, refreshing living spaces using non-toxic, eco-friendly methods that reduce waste and environmental impact. Topics include simplified natural cleaners, adopting reusable cleaning tools, donating/upcycling items, and building sustainable habits.

Rubina incorporates her own cultural connections of seasons and a love for nature throughout the discussion. As a parent, entrepreneur, and conscientious consumer, they will weave ideas of sustainability with practical lifestyle tools. Participants should come with questions and curiosity. With plenty to discuss, having the means to take notes is encouraged.

Rubina is the owner of PROCESS and co-owns Tomorrow River Homestead. She is a citizen of the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska doing cultural work throughout her tribal community. Rue is President of the Village of Nelsonville and is one of the founding members of the Nelsonville Water Committee. Accolades over the last couple years include the Associated Recyclers of Wisconsin [AROW] Outstanding Achievement in Waste Reduction & Recycling, two national Backing Small Businesses Enhancement Grants as well as a Wisconsin Humanities Opportunity Grant. About the MREA’s Webinar Series:

Join the Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) for a free, monthly webinar series exploring the renewable energy and sustainability topics you want to learn more about. These interactive sessions take place on the last Tuesday of every month at 5:30 p.m. and are hosted virtually for easy access from anywhere.

The MREA was founded from our historic Energy Fair event — an annual gathering that brought together thousands of attendees to explore sustainability, clean energy, and actionable solutions for a greener future. While the Fair has since been retired, its spirit of education, connection, and action lives on. This monthly webinar series continues that legacy by creating space for learning, discussion, and community around today’s most relevant clean energy and sustainability topics.

These webinars are free and open to all. We do encourage participants to become MREA members to help support our work and ensure we can continue offering accessible education and advocacy across the Midwest.

Be sure to subscribe to our monthly newsletter to get updates on upcoming webinar topics, speaker announcements, and opportunities to suggest future subjects or organizations you’d like to hear from.
