Associate Credential & Board Certification Pathways

NABCEP PV Associate Credential and Board Certifications

One of the most common questions we receive from students is about the educational requirements for NABCEP PV Associate credentials and Board Certifications. To help, we’ve developed detailed course pathways to guide you through the process. MREA is a Registered Training Provider (RTP) for the NABCEP PV Associate Credential and offers advanced PV training hours for the NABCEP Board Certifications.

Please note that MREA is not a provider of OSHA training, field experience, or project credits.

Entry-Level Credential

NABCEP PV Associate (PVA)

A great place to start in the solar industry is the NABCEP PV Associate Program. This entry-level credential recognizes individuals who have demonstrated knowledge of the fundamental principles of the application, design, installation, and operation of photovoltaic systems.

The PV Installation Professional (PVIP) Board Certification validates your competence to perform in the role of PV Installation Professional, which encompasses PV design, installation, operations, commissioning and maintenance.

The PV Technical Sales (PVTS) Board Certification was created for those who have a demonstrated knowledge and expertise in qualifying prospects, site analysis, performance analysis and financial incentives of PV systems.
