The NABCEP Board Eligible Status is here, and it’s opening up new pathways for those working towards PV Installation Professional (PVIP) Board Certification! This change addresses a key challenge in the solar industry: the ability to progress toward certification before gaining hands-on experience. By allowing individuals to complete education and exams first, it creates an accessible entry point to the field. This approach lets aspiring professionals demonstrate theoretical knowledge and commitment while working towards the practical experience required for full certification.
What does this mean for you?
- You can now become Board Eligible after passing the NABCEP PVIP exam — even if you haven’t met the experience requirements yet.
- You have up to 3 years to complete the experience and convert your status to fully Board Certified.
