Over the past few years, we’ve been following the actions of Tony Evers and his administration to support the transition to in-state, clean energy in Wisconsin. The Governor’s Task Force on Climate Change Report and the Clean Energy Plan from the Wisconsin Office of Sustainability and Clean Energy offer clear roadmaps for Wisconsin. We’ve also successfully received two Wisconsin Fast Forward grants to provide employee training to a network of Wisconsin companies advancing solar energy and energy storage installations.
On Tuesday, April 11, 2023, we had the pleasure and honor of hosting Governor Tony Evers and Assistant Deputy Secretary of Workforce Development, Jeremy Simon, at our campus in Custer, Wisconsin. We toured the MREA including our solar-powered electric vehicle charging, energy storage system tech center, training labs, and the construction site of the soon-to-be solar pavilion that will serve as a model outdoor classroom for Wisconsin schools courtesy of the Couillard Solar Foundation. We discussed workforce needs, technology trends, supply chains, pricing, public awareness, and the impact of the Inflation Reduction Act. The Governor, as I understand is his nature, asked 100 questions and I felt like we were just getting started when we had to wrap up. We have so much to discuss and so much to do!
We greatly appreciated the time with Governor Evers and his staff and we’re proud to showcase our work. If you are a supporter of in-state clean energy development, it’s an exciting time in Wisconsin. And, if you’d like to see our campus and discuss the clean energy opportunity in Wisconsin with us, we welcome you to come to The Energy Fair on June 23-25th.
