SUMMARY:Solar Training Academy (PV 320)
DESCRIPTION:This package of six MREA courses is ideal for those just entering the solar workforce or preparing to take the NABCEP PV Associate exam. This course package includes: 52 hours of training\, textbook\, printed course materials\, and NABCEP PV Associate Exam. \nClass will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily (full attendance is required for credentials). \nJoin us at our headquarters in Custer\, WI\, to earn your NABCEP PV Associate Credential. Classes are taught by NABCEP-certified and experienced PV professionals\, providing you with the foundational skills to launch or advance your solar career. Upon completing this series\, you’ll be fully prepared to take the NABCEP PV Associate Exam. Pass the exam\, and you’ve officially earned your credential to advance in the solar industry! \nWe provide light snacks\, coffee\, and tea during class. Meals are not provided\, but a refrigerator and kitchen are available for students to store and warm up lunches. DESCRIPTION:Join the Midwest Renewable Energy Association and IronRidge to obtain your IronRidge certification! This is a hands-on training that functions as a skill assessment of IronRidge products at the MREA’s headquarters in Custer\, WI. Four sessions will be offered over this two-day course. Please register for each individual taking the course. \n\nTuesday\, April 15: 8 a.m.-12 p.m. — REGISTER FOR THIS SESSION\nTuesday\, April 15: 12:30-4:30 p.m. — REGISTER FOR THIS SESSION\nWednesday\, April 16: 8 a.m.-12 p.m. — REGISTER FOR THIS SESSION\nWednesday\, April 16: 12:30-4:30 p.m. — REGISTER FOR THIS SESSION\n\nAfter registering\, you must complete the two-hour online training portion in order to participate in the in-person training. A Spanish version is also available. Two NABCEP continuing education units (CEUs) will be awarded for completing the online portion and an additional three CEUs will be awarded for attending and passing the in-person skills assessment. DESCRIPTION:We’re presenting our NABCEP Approved PV 604 – Inspecting PV Systems course in-person on March 21st from 1-4:30 p.m. at the NABCEP CE Conference! \nPresented by MREA Solar Project Manager\, Nick Matthes this course reviews National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements for PV system installation and inspections paying particular attention to Articles 690 and 705. Participants will learn installation best practices and common code violations to avoid in PV system installation along with requirements specific to: Equipment listing. labeling\, and installation; Circuit calculations and wiring methods; Grounding; Overcurrent protection sizing and installation\, and much more. \nThrough this course\, electrical inspectors\, contractors\, and installers will gain valuable insight on code requirements and installation best practices for PV systems. \nNick has been working with solar for over 15 years and has a passion for sustainability and making electricity from sunlight. \nNick is a NABCEP certified PV Installation Professional with WI Master Electrician and Commercial Electrical Inspector licenses and is currently the Project Manager at the MREA\, helping coordinate installations and trainings across the region.
