SUMMARY:MREA Webinar Series — Leaving a Legacy
DESCRIPTION:WHEN: Tuesday\, April 28 starting at 5:30 p.m. \nWHERE: Online via Zoom \nThe MREA’s April webinar will feature Michael Lauterbach\, attorney at Lauterbach Legal\, for a presentation to help you maximize your charitable impact while navigating the complexities of estate and tax planning. \nThe session will demystify the mechanics of Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) and Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs)\, showing you how to turn tax obligations into powerful tools for giving. Following the technical overview\, we’ll feature an interview with Cal Couillard of the Couillard Solar Foundation. Cal will share his personal “why” behind utilizing QCDs and offer his perspective on the vital importance of supporting meaningful causes both today and for generations to come. \nMike founded Lauterbach Legal in 2014. In his seventeen years in private practice\, he has helped hundreds of families with estate planning\, settling estates\, and related matters. His practice currently focuses on creating estate plans for business owners\, families that include beneficiaries with special needs\, families focused on charitable giving\, and high net worth individuals and couples. He also assists with the firm’s estate and trust settlement work. \nMike is a graduate of St. Cloud (Minnesota) State University and the University of Wisconsin Law School. He has practiced in central Wisconsin since 2006. He also currently serves on the board for the Green Circle Trail\, and is a frequent speaker to local community and business groups. \nREGISTER TO ATTEND\nCan’t make it to the live webinar? No worries! We’ll upload the recorded webinar to YouTube the next business day so you won’t miss out. \n  \nAbout the MREA’s Webinar Series:\nJoin the Midwest Renewable Energy Association (MREA) for a free\, monthly webinar series exploring the renewable energy and sustainability topics you want to learn more about. These interactive sessions take place on the last Tuesday of every month at 5:30 p.m. and are hosted virtually for easy access from anywhere. \nThe MREA was founded from our historic Energy Fair event — an annual gathering that brought together thousands of attendees to explore sustainability\, clean energy\, and actionable solutions for a greener future. While the Fair has since been retired\, its spirit of education\, connection\, and action lives on. This monthly webinar series continues that legacy by creating space for learning\, discussion\, and community around today’s most relevant clean energy and sustainability topics. \nThese webinars are free and open to all. We do encourage participants to become MREA members to help support our work and ensure we can continue offering accessible education and advocacy across the Midwest. \nBe sure to subscribe to our monthly newsletter to get updates on upcoming webinar topics\, speaker announcements\, and opportunities to suggest future subjects or organizations you’d like to hear from.
